It started with a dog named Beans.
I thought I was designing a better bed.
What I didn't expect was how much time I'd spend simply watching him. The way he leaned into corners, circled before lying down, rested his chin on an edge, or sought out cooler places on the floor.
The more closely I observed him, the more I realized that comfort isn't random. It's instinct.
At the same time, I couldn't ignore that the objects designed around those instincts rarely belonged in the home. They asked us to choose between comfort and design—as though creatures deserved one and people the other.
COOL CREATURE began with the belief that they should never have been separate. We design furniture around the instinct of comfort, creating objects that honor the way creatures naturally rest while belonging beautifully in the spaces we share, together.
